Voice Data & Biometric Information
Important: Voice prints and voiceprints derived from recordings may constitute biometric data under applicable state laws (including the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act and similar statutes). We treat all voice enrollment data with the highest level of care and protection.
3.1 What We Collect
When you voluntarily enroll family members in the Family Voice Enrollment feature, we collect:
- Short voice samples (typically 10–30 seconds per speaker) recorded during the enrollment process
- Mathematical voice print representations derived from those samples
- The name you associate with each enrolled voice profile
3.2 How We Use Voice Data
Voice data is used exclusively to:
- Generate a voiceprint (mathematical model) for each enrolled family member
- Compare incoming caller audio in real time against enrolled voiceprints to detect potential AI deepfake impersonations
- Alert you when a caller's voice does not match any enrolled family member
Voice data is not used to train commercial AI models, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than fraud detection for your specific account.
3.3 Consent & Withdrawal
Enrollment in the Family Voice feature is entirely voluntary and requires explicit, documented consent from each person whose voice is enrolled. You may delete any voice profile at any time through your account dashboard. Upon deletion, both the raw recordings and the derived voiceprint are permanently deleted within 30 days.
3.4 Retention of Voice Data
Voice recordings used during enrollment are deleted after voiceprint generation (within 72 hours). Derived voiceprints are retained only while your subscription is active. Upon account termination, all voiceprints are permanently deleted within 30 days.
3.5 Security of Voice Data
Voice prints are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption and in transit using TLS 1.3. Access is restricted to a limited number of authorized engineers operating under strict confidentiality obligations.
Financial Data (Plaid)
4.1 How Financial Data Is Accessed
SilverShield AI™ uses Plaid, Inc., a third-party financial data aggregation service, to connect to the protected person's bank and financial accounts. All financial connections are made with your explicit, informed consent and are strictly read-only — SilverShield cannot initiate, modify, or approve any financial transactions.
4.2 What Financial Data We Access
- Transaction history (payee, amount, date, category)
- Account balances
- Institution name and account type
We do not access or store full account numbers, routing numbers, Social Security numbers, PINs, or passwords. Plaid's own privacy policy governs Plaid's handling of financial data and is available at plaid.com/legal/privacy-policy.
4.3 How Financial Data Is Used
- Detecting unusual or suspicious transaction patterns (e.g., large transfers to unknown recipients, sudden wire transfers, gift card purchases)
- Generating alerts for potentially fraudulent activity
- Providing a transaction monitoring dashboard to authorized Family Circle members
4.4 Financial Data Retention
Financial transaction data is retained for up to 24 months to enable pattern analysis. Upon account termination, financial data is permanently deleted within 60 days. You may revoke Plaid access at any time through your account settings, which will immediately stop all financial monitoring.
